Here’s to the power age

“A celebration of life’s second act” by Kelly Doust

On my forty-seventh birthday I was given a book which is addressed to those who want to mature in style, like a pro and to revel in health and well-being.

I haven’t read it yet because I’ve been too busy but it sounds inspiring.

It has made me think of many of my birthdays from when I was young, with my loving grandparents and the small parties with friends of the neighborhood and no shortage of presents. I had fantastic birthdays in Switzerland, in a majestic region of high mountains, so high, you think they touch the sky and at night time meet the stars.

My twenty-seventh birthday was extraordinary. I was travelling for the first time to Australia and New Zealand.  I celebrated my birthday at Uluru, and it was the most magical day. After weeks of rain, the dessert came alive, lush and green. The Rock looked bright red against the contrast of the blue sky and field of green bush.

So, why do I write this?  I want to embrace my fifties, recently celebrated in March, without overlooking the magical timing, just a few days after the Vernal equinox, about the twenty-first of March.  I must admit it has been always a special time, my March birthday.  Now I don’t mind celebrating with the slight confusion of the seasons as I was born in the Northern hemisphere and have moved to the South, enjoying Autumn instead of Spring. With the big events, seasonal, astrological and the influences of the planets, I always feel that the month of March comes around with a big bang.

I feel like the one important and special person on my birthday. I have always carried this feeling with me. I’ve always planned them well, made them special and often combined birthdays with a visit of a spectacular place on this planet Earth. I think the most important part is to remember is that we are each, unique. It is an amazing process to arrive on this planet, and we should celebrate big milestones even more.

The people who know me well, know how much I love astrology, and now birthdays seem to get even more attention. What is so special about the date, the moon cycle, which weekdays the birthday falls on? Is it worth throwing a big party this year? What are the planets doing?

I could hardly wait for my forty-eighth birthday because it was the end of lockdown. Presently, for my fiftieth birthday, a mini getaway and something really special have been planned. I’m going to have fifty dates throughout this year, with family and friends.

Currently, this time feels perfect for creating the new part of my business, for my lifestyle, my purpose, my ambitions, my dreams, my values, and most importantly, my relationships with loved ones, friends, colleagues and clients.

The universe has taught me many things. The past decade, was an absolute roller coaster, and I have realized that to be able to create and recover from my endless energy, I need to bring on the delayed plans to spend time away with my wonderful husband. We have been travelers from our early 20’s. Now, we’ve built a nest, live in a great area, and fulfilled our dream to live closer to the Mornintgon Penisula.

I believe that there are many more trips around the sun yet to come. Relying on my inner voice is never a bad option and the birthdays are getting more special all the time.
