Masterclasses. What are the benefits?
The first Masterclass that I presented, was in Slings Myofascial Training which is designed to improve balance and efficiency through movement.
We use specific training techniques to optimize tissue adaptability, gliding, elasticity and nourishment. The overall training aims are balanced posture, ergonomic daily movement, improved athletic abilities, resilience and refined body awareness.
Over the years I have adapted almost everything that Karin Gurnter, the founder of the movement and Muriel, a senior lecturer at art of motion, taught me in courses and webinars. I have combined some of those practices with somatic movement practices. The benefits of Masterclasses are that the participant can walk away with a deeper connection to the concepts that I have adopted. I always present topics like trigger point release technique and Myofascial release therapy infused with enhanced body awareness, postural balance, and understanding the depth of the human body beyond the physical. The facial system has a close relationship with the nervous system and therefore it goes beyond the physical body. We tap into the emotional and mental wellbeing of the human body as well. I find this really fascinating. The masterclasses are fantastic to dive with me to discover the richness of the interconnectedness of the fascial web. The outcome is profound and the feedback of the participants is inspiring. It motivates me to reflect and improve my teaching skills.
Advertising the MC, I often refer to somatic movement practice too.
What is somatic movement?
A somatic movement is a movement that’s practiced consciously with the intention of focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or the end result of the movement.
The Feldenkrais Method is probably the most well- known method of somatic education.
I am encouraging and empowering participants to take care of themselves by giving them tools that they can apply anytime in their home to practice relieve pain and improve posture and movement function. Improvement of overall wellbeing, vitality, body and mind connection and lowering stress levels is guaranteed.
I think the most important aspect is to focus on the reasons we move, whether it is with intention and purpose. We need to focus on how we’re feeling rather than meeting a specific fitness goal or a quick fix.
The Masterclasses can help you to feel more relaxed, can lessen feelings of anxiety and provide mood boosting, increased flexibility and mobility. They can help you become more in touch with your emotions. I have had very specific feedback from participants, like:
“I’m moving more with ease, less restrictions and body ache, I feel happier, there is improvement of skin and muscle tone and tissue health after applying was I’ve learnt at the highly informative Masterclasses”.
