Pilates and other forms of therapy sessions

Hello. Here it is. My first blog about Pilates and Therapy sessions like Crystal Therapy, Pellowah and Reiki.

I’ve been waiting to write about all above for a long time. I feel for the most part, the majority of teacher’s and clients have the mind and body part. For me, I get the spirit involved. The spirit is involved in Pilates and Yoga, Dance. In this blog post I like to list a couple of things how to get the spirit back.

It can be argued that the spirit is involved once you start connecting the mind and body together that they are connecting through the spirit On a daily base I teach beautiful students all levels and ages, some criticize their body. Even when their body start to change the look amazing and move differently, they do not see it. Perhaps, the student needs supportive energy like calm, enhanced focus or vitality. Perhaps these have been missing for quite some time. How do we help them to get that part of themselves back? Is this something that can be spoken about within a private lesson or group classes?

I have witnesses that many of my students have putting everything and everyone else before themselves. In recent years I have been teaching students recovering from cancer, chronic illnesses, anxiety, burnouts and poor life style habits.  Currently I am working with patients who recover from strokes, and a couple of students the reason coming to me, releasing high level of stress due to years of grieving.

How does the spirit fit into the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates? I run a 6-week program, inviting my clients to finish the session with guided relaxation, breath work and one or two crystals placed at a desired part of the body. It was a total win- win, and it became my focus and specialty for another 4 months. The small class grew from 3 students to 6 students in short periods of time.

Joseph Pilates wrote about the spirits in his books and I plan on exploring how to teach this within my sessions or at least how to supply information about our energetic field to my clients.

Crystal Therapy sessions are offered in many movement workshops when Yoga and Meditation is taught. Reiki is now practiced in animal shelters, hospitals, spas, rehab programs, and war zones.

I have used crystal therapy and Pellowah in personal settings, 1:1’s and it has been rewarding for my student and a deep profound experience for student and myself.

In a group class, I invest time in body reading whilst tactile cueing and to the surprise of some of my students I have given correct information and if there is a crystal I can recommend, I will.

Wherever and whenever I feel the energy is needed and the energy flows for the highest healing good, it will, and it will always seek out the area of greatest imbalance first. Energy, Therapy session, Pellowah & Reiki promotes balance for evening out the energy in all living matter.

Here are some things that help me get back my mojo, spirit back on and off the mat::

  • I recognize all the beautiful things that surround me on a daily base.

  • I acknowledge the love and support that friends and family are giving.

  • I recognize my limitations and do not judge them

  • Breathing and meditation, I often will sit in a quiet space and do the breath work, no movement, just breath. This will quiet my mind and center me.

Over the years I learned as a teacher of movement, providing crystal and Pellowah therapy, being a student of spiritual practice and recently started learning about Reiki, finished Level 1 in February 2024, and as a spiritual being, investing in myself, in my studies and work and my own healing process has been an magical and fulfilling experience. It has made be a better person to understand my students, and it is the mind, body and spirit form that attends Movement classes.
